Lead Technical Engineer

Position Summary: The Lead Technical Engineer is an experienced IT generalist working in various capacities for a variety of clients. The LTE is responsible for advanced technical support of various routers, firewalls, switches, and VoIP phone systems. The LTE will also provide advanced input for customer network architecture on a variety of applications. This critical role is accountable, along with the other team members, for delivery of services that meet all technical requirements for clients in a timely fashion. The LTE also requires personal and administrative skills, such as initiative, time management, prioritization, multi-tasking, project assessment, scoping, estimation, time allocation/tracking, documentation, communication, and testing and solution deployment.



•            Provides advanced technical support for each client’s managed router or firewall

•            Provides advanced technical support for each client’s VoIP phone system

•            Provides advanced technical support for troubleshooting various issues as they arise regarding the above

•            Provides advanced technical support for each client’s data network, including configuration, performance and security

•            Provides advanced technical support for customer solutions from design all the way through installation and ongoing support of various applications

•            Ensures customer network outages are reported quickly to the customer and follows up all the way through circuit restoral

•            Ensures change control and other processes and procedures are followed and that configuration documentation is completed when systems are deployed or modified

•            Responsible for engaging and managing vendor escalations, as required

•            Provides timely and clear communications to the client

•            Provides detailed information in a ticketing system for various projects, trouble tickets, etc.

•            Assembles and installs basic Windows or Linux based servers


•            Detailed utilization and time tracking

•            Provides guidance, mentoring and coaching to team members to ensure continuity of knowledge and staff development
