Founded in 1993, SCI represents services from Centurylink, AT&T, ACC, XO, and Time Warner Cable. SCI also works with several regional and specialty providers such as Windstream, Integra, Masergy and TW Telecom. Customers have the option of receiving their invoice directly from the Carrier or from SCI to simplify the billing process.

We develop strong customer relationships by giving our customers a local point of contact, competitive telecommunications offering, and a proactive account management team providing complete value solutions.

John Kirby - President

John oversees the company’s business strategy, evolution and goals, and development of strategic business opportunities.  He has positioned the company as a premier global telecommunications company that specializes in custom voice and data solutions for high-demand, multi-location global enterprises.

Responsible for the vision, direction, and leadership, John successfully grew SCi from a start-up in 1993 to a competitive global telecommunications firm with offices and delivery teams located coast to coast and in India.  Since inception, John formed strategic alliances with carrier partners creating a niche to deliver the most technologically-advanced, multiple-carrier solutions with a single account team to companies worldwide. This value proposition elevated SCi’s ability to establish, maintain and grow long-term customer relationships within a very dynamic and competitive industry.

A seasoned entrepreneur and industry veteran, John has over 25 years in telecommunications, with prior positions at Motorola, Southwestern Bell, and Allnet, where he held director positions in sales and marketing, corporate development, strategic planning and customer relations.

John holds a Bachelor of Science degree, specializing in Sales and Business Management from the University of Nebraska Omaha.  He graduated with Honors, Magna Cum Laude.  Recognized for his community efforts, John assists in many charitable programs and events.  He participates on numerous committees and boards to promote various causes in Kansas City and especially passionate about promoting ice hockey in Kansas City and the Midwest Region.   A sports enthusiast, he enjoys golf, skiing, hockey, boating and traveling with his wife and their family.

Keri Bell - Executive Administrator

Keri manages our Human Resources department.  She is our most tenured employee, dedicated to the strategic development of our corporate vision and mission to provide the highest level of customer satisfaction in telecom industry.  Keri oversees the day-to-day operations of all internal communications between the various departments, team members and offices scattered throughout the US over various time zones.  She is responsible for establishing company policies and practices governing employment, recruitment, compensation, training, travel and employee benefits package.  Her outstanding leadership and professionalism within the SCi organization bring a strong level of employee satisfaction, where she focuses on team building, employee retention and creating a positive work environment that lends to overall company growth.

Keri has 20+ years experience in the telecommunications industry with a previous administrative role at Allnet Communications, where she successfully managed a branch office of executives, sales reps and support personnel.   A Certified Professional Wellcoach ® and Certified Personal Trainer, Keri is passionate about empowering others to become the best they can be.  She coaches staff members and the local community in developing the knowledge and discipline to establish healthy mind and body lifelong-fitness programs.  In addition, she enjoys exercise, boating, cooking and spending time with family.

Paul Kirby - Operations Manager

Paul is responsible for the Finance and Accounting departments.  As controller at SCi for 19 years, Paul sets financial objectives and oversees Purchasing, Regulatory and Business Operations.  He started his career with Motorola, building a background in business communications and knowledge that helped design the SCi infrastructure as a global leader in telecommunications.  He was instrumental in consolidating and simplifying multiple, complex billing and accounting issues into an easy-to-understand, single invoice platform.  Paul has driven our success in designing and implementing customized billing and reporting processes that provide invaluable time savings to our clients.

Paul received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Seattle University.  He resides in Kansas City with his wife, Tara and three children.  In his spare time, Paul loves to ski and travel with his family.  He is an avid runner, having competed in several marathons most recently the 2015 Dallas Marathon.

Victoria Crowder - Client Solution Strategist

Victoria joined SCi in 2012 and has grown her position to provide several levels of support for SCi customers.  With new clients, she serves as a liaison between sales, orders, and installation. She ensures all changes have a smooth transition.   In the spirit of client education, Victoria developed and maintains the SCi online academy which provides training and on-going updates for each client’s equipment and services. In addition to on-boarding and education, she is a certified 3CX Engineer, and provides level 1 trouble support.  Following installation and training, she builds the account relationship by supporting the client’s day-to-day needs and long term growth.

Victoria received a BA in debate/communications from UMKC, but her passion for helping people create safer lives led to her certification as a protection specialist.  In 2014 she launched her own self-defense training center which is managed by her family.  When she isn’t at SCi, you’ll find her training moms and teens. Her ‘me time’ is spent hand embroidering anything she can put a stitch in.

Michelle King - Marketing & Client Development

Michelle is responsible for supporting the company in marketing, business development, and client relations activities.  Responsibilities include developing marketing materials, supporting proposal development efforts, and providing sales training and business development guidance.  Michelle initiates ideas and processes to SCi to increase marketing and business development effectiveness. Michelle also provides guidance and direction on relationship building and business development skills to the company.

Michelle has 19 years of marketing and sales experience in B2B and B2C environments. From 2000 – 2006, she worked at Southwest Communications, Inc as a Sales & Operations Administrator before taking a Marketing & Communications Director position at Midland Radio, Inc. She returned to SCI in 2011.

Michelle participates on numerous committees and boards to promote various causes in Kansas City and especially passionate about promoting ice hockey in Kansas City and the Midwest Region.   An artist at heart, she enjoys photography, oil painting, and drawing.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and planning the next vacation destination.

Jeff Montgomery - Technical Sales Engineer

Jeff has over 10 years of experience in various facets of the I.T. industry. He has provided specialized support and network design and implementation for many different types of hardware, voice, and data solutions.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Computer Science degree, specializing in Enterprise network connectivity and security from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. He has also obtained his CCNP certification from Cisco.

A father of one daughter, Jeff is an avid sports fan that enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
