TV services

Business TV on the same account as your phones and internet.

  • Satellite, cable or streaming TV
  • One bill for TV, voice and data
  • One number to call, any hour

What we set up

TV for every space in your business

Each space has different viewers, rules and equipment. We match each one to the right provider and account type, then support it alongside your phones, internet and Wi-Fi.

  • Lobbies and Waiting Rooms

    Satellite · cable · streaming

Give visitors something to watch while they wait, on a business account that covers screens the public can see. We help you pick channels that suit the room, from local news and weather to something calm for a clinic.

    • Local news, weather and calm channels
    • Captions on for quiet rooms
    • Settings locked to the channel you choose
    • An account that covers your visitors
  • Bars, Restaurants and Sports Viewing

    Public-viewing accounts · multiple receivers

Show the games your customers come in for. Venues usually need a public-viewing account, often priced by fire-code occupancy, so we compare each provider’s venue and sports packages at your address.

    • Different games on different screens
    • Sports packages licensed for businesses
    • Sound on one screen, captions on the rest
    • Business music for when the game is off
Why a home account usually won’t cover it
  • Hotels and Guest Rooms

Coax or network distribution · hospitality TVs

Hospitality TV puts one channel lineup in every guest room, delivered over the coax you already have or over your network. We plan it with your hotel phones and guest Wi-Fi in mind, so one team handles all three.

    • Guest rooms on a hospitality account
    • Guests cast their own apps, where supported
    • Hospitality TVs with locked settings
    • Lobby, bar and fitness room screens too
    Guest Wi-Fi for hotels
  • Break Rooms and Offices

TV for your own team: news in the break room, weather and markets in the office, the game on in the driver lounge. Staff-only areas usually need a business account too, though often a different package than screens customers see.

    • News, weather and sports for staff
    • Driver lounges and crew rooms
    • Usually a private-viewing business package
  • Multi-Location TV Programs

Run TV the same way at every location: a standard channel lineup and setup, one bill and one team to call for any site. Providers differ by address, so we keep things as consistent as each location allows.

    • A standard lineup and setup for each site
    • One bill across all your locations
    • New sites added to the same program
    • One team to call for trouble anywhere
  • TV Over Your Internet Connection

Business streaming · smart TVs · streaming players

Streaming TV runs over your internet connection instead of a dish or cable line, so each screen uses bandwidth for as long as it plays. We size your connection for it, keep TV on its own virtual network (VLAN) and set quality of service so phones and card terminals come first.

    • Bandwidth planned for every screen
    • Quality of service (QoS) so calls come first
    • Backup internet for screens that must stay on
    • Business streaming plans, not home apps
    Internet and backup connections
  • Equipment, Receivers and Setup

Dishes · receivers · cable boxes · streaming players

Every screen needs a source: a provider receiver, a cable box, a streaming player or a hospitality TV that takes the signal directly. We work out the mix for each space and schedule installation with the provider or a local installer.

    • A receiver for each channel shown at once
    • Mounting and wiring planned before install day
    • Captions, remotes and settings set up
    • Equipment swaps handled through one team
  • Digital Signage and Information Screens

Screens · media players · signage software

Turn a screen into a sign for menus, specials, wayfinding or welcome messages, on its own or beside live TV. For busy phone teams, a wall screen can show your live call-queue wallboard.

    • Menus, specials and announcements
    • Welcome and wayfinding screens
    • Live call-queue wallboards
    • Your messages beside live TV
    Contact center wallboards

Home or business account

Showing TV to customers usually takes a business account

Sort this out before you buy screens or sign up for a package.

A home TV or streaming subscription is usually licensed for private viewing in a household. Showing it on a screen in your lobby, bar or waiting room generally falls outside those terms, and providers and rights holders do look for it, especially during big sports events.

Business TV accounts are made for this. Public viewing, where customers or guests can see the screen, is often packaged and priced differently from private areas like a break room or office. Some providers price bars and restaurants by fire-code occupancy, and hotels usually have hospitality accounts for guest rooms.

This is general information, not legal advice, and the rules differ by provider and by what you show. We help you choose the account type for each space before anything is ordered, and your written proposal names it.

  • We match each space to the right account type
  • We order channels and sports packages from business lineups, not home plans
  • We check how each provider prices your venue
  • We flag special events and music that may need their own license
  • Nothing is ordered until you approve the written proposal

Plan by area

What each area usually needs

Most businesses have more than one kind of space, and each one is set up differently. Here’s the usual picture; we confirm it for your address and provider.

What each area usually needs

How it works

How we set up TV for your business

An SCi engineer leads every project, with the same process we use for voice and data.

  1. Understand Your Spaces

We learn where the screens go, who watches them and what you want on screen, then review your current TV bills, contracts and wiring.

  2. Compare Provider Options

We compare satellite, cable and streaming options from business TV providers at your address, and confirm the account type each space needs.

  3. Set Up the Account and Equipment

Once you approve the written proposal, we order the service, schedule installation with the provider or a local installer, and test each screen.

  4. Add It to One Bill and Support It

TV joins the same monthly bill as your phones and internet. When a screen goes dark, call us any hour and we work it with the provider.

Part of one account, not one more vendor.

  • One monthly billWe consolidate your carriers’ invoices into one bill from SCi.
  • One point of contactTrouble with any carrier comes to us, whether or not we provide it.

Questions

Questions about business TV

Still unsure? Call (816) 298-4100 and an engineer will walk you through it.

Can we use our home TV subscription in the lobby?

Usually not. Home TV and streaming subscriptions are typically licensed for private viewing at home, so screens customers or guests can see generally need a business account. Staff areas often need one too. Your written proposal names the account type for each space.

Can we get sports packages to show customers?

Often, yes. Business TV providers offer sports packages licensed for bars, restaurants and other venues, and many price them by the venue’s fire-code occupancy. What’s available depends on the provider and your address, and some special events, like pay-per-view fights, are licensed to businesses separately. Ask us before you promote a game, and we’ll check with the provider.

Satellite, cable or streaming: which should we choose?

It depends on the address and the space. Cable TV needs service at your building, satellite needs a clear view of the sky, and streaming needs enough internet bandwidth for all your screens. We compare what’s available at each location and recommend one in writing.

Can TV run over our internet connection?

Yes. Many business TV services stream over the internet instead of a dish or cable line. Each screen uses bandwidth for as long as it plays, so we check your connection first, put TV on its own virtual network and set quality of service so calls and card payments come first. If TV has to stay on through an internet outage, add a backup connection.

Can TV go on one bill with our phones and internet?

Yes. We consolidate invoices from many carriers and providers into one monthly bill, and TV can sit on it with your phones, internet and Wi-Fi. You get one account team and one number to call, whoever delivers the service.

Who do we call when a TV stops working?

Call us at (816) 298-4100, any hour, or email scisupport@scitel.net. The email opens a support ticket and the ticket number arrives right away. We work out whether it’s the screen, the receiver, the network or the provider, and open the provider ticket for you, so you aren’t on hold with a TV company.

Do you work with hotels?

Yes. We’ve customized 100+ hotel phone systems, including links to the property management system for check-in, check-out and wake-up calls, and we run guest Wi-Fi on managed, monitored networks. Guest-room TV fits on the same account, so one team looks after phones, Wi-Fi and TV.

Can you install and mount the TVs?

Usually, yes. We schedule installation with the provider or a local installer, including mounting and wiring where you need it, and your proposal spells out who does what. After the install we check every screen before we call the job done.
